Rental Terms and Conditions

1. Scope and applicable law

These terms apply to every rental agreement with Road Hero Rentals. Mandatory consumer rights remain fully applicable. Agreements are interpreted under Spanish law.

2. Driver eligibility and documents

• Driver must be at least 21 years old and hold a valid license for at least 2 years.
• Drivers aged 21-24 are accepted with a young-driver surcharge of EUR 50 per rental period.
• Valid ID/passport and driving license must be presented before handover.

3. Booking, payment and cancellation

• A booking is final after explicit confirmation from Road Hero Rentals.
• Cancellation 14 or more days before pickup: 100% refund of prepaid booking amount, minus non-refundable processor costs.
• Cancellation 7-13 days before pickup: 50% refund of prepaid booking amount.
• Cancellation less than 7 days before pickup or no-show: no refund of prepaid booking amount.
• Date changes requested at least 48 hours in advance are handled subject to availability.

4. Deposit, mileage and extras

• Security deposit: EUR 3. Deposit is returned within 7 calendar days after return, unless pending damage, fines, tolls, fuel adjustments, or contractual breaches must be settled first.
• Included mileage is based on an average of 150 km/day over the rental period.
• Airport pickup/drop-off is available on request from EUR 40 per single transfer.

5. Insurance and liability

• Vehicles are operated with mandatory Spanish motor third-party liability insurance.
• Renter is liable for damage or loss caused by negligence, prohibited use, unauthorized drivers, wrong fuel, lost keys/documents, or driving under influence.
• Traffic fines, parking penalties, toll violations, and related administrative costs are always charged to renter.
• Road Hero Rentals is not liable for indirect damage, missed connections, or loss of income, except where liability cannot be excluded by mandatory law.
